Kansas Deer

Hunt Kansas Trophy Whitetails

The formula for Kansas trophy deer is simple. It all begins with good genetics, great nutrition from our rich soil and low hunting pressure (0.5 hunters per square mile.) Now all the deer need to reach world-class trophy potential is age. We have many great Kansas hunting opportunities on our properties, and we would love to have you come out and hunt with us. We are now booking for all the 2010 seasons.

Kansas Deer Archery

Archery

Our Kansas archery hunts are from tree stands. Tree stands are located in key areas known for producing Kansas trophy whitetails. You are welcome to bring your own stands, or we can relocate ours if needed. Our main goal is to put you where the deer are so you may have the opportunity to take home a Kansas trophy. Safety belts are mandatory in all tree stands.

Rifle

Kansas rifle hunts are available from tree stands and ground blinds. Both very successful way of taking home your Kasas trophy deer. You will be hunting Kansas Unit 8. Safety belts are mandatory in all tree stands.

Muzzleloader

Kansas muzzleloader hunts are from tree stands. Early muzzleloader hunts are much like our archery hunts. Our late muzzleloader hunts are much like our rifle hunts. Safety belts are mandatory in all tree stands.

PERMIT UPDATE: The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has announced that 4,016 nonresident deer permits are still available for the 2010 season. These are permits that were not taken in the April nonresident application period. They are Whitetail Either-Sex permits (hunter designates equipment/season choice, as well as one adjacent unit, at time of purchase) and will be sold, first come, first served, to any nonresident who does not possess a 2010 permit. Leftover permits go on sale June 15 at 12:01 a.m., online at the KDWP website (www.kdwp.state.ks.us). Those who don’t have access to a computer may call the Licensing Section at 620-672-0728, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Nonresident Deer applicants must apply online from April 1 thru April 30, 2010. The unit map is the same for rifle, muzzleloader and archery hunts. Blue River Whitetails is located in Unit 8. When filling out your application, under primary unit choose Unit #8 and the adjacent unit as #9. For your second choice mark Unit #9 for your primary, and Unit #8 for the adjacent unit. This will increase your odds of drawing. Make sure you mark the hunt type you will be hunting (ex. firearms, muzzleloader or archery.) The lottery drawing will be in the month of June and you will be notified by KDWP shortly after of your drawing status. The non-resident deer permit is $322.15 (includes a  $21.15 nonrefundable application fee). A Kansas hunting license is $72.15 and can be purchased via the KDWP website.
