Rifle
Kansas rifle hunts are available from tree stands
and ground blinds. Both very successful way of taking home your
Kasas trophy deer. You will be hunting Kansas Unit 8. Safety belts are mandatory in all tree
stands.
Muzzleloader
Kansas muzzleloader hunts are from tree stands.
Early muzzleloader hunts are much like our archery hunts. Our
late muzzleloader hunts are much like our rifle hunts. Safety
belts are mandatory in all tree stands.

Season
Early Muzzleloader:
Sept. 17 thru Sept. 30, 2012 Youth and
Disability: Sept. 8 thru Sept. 16, 2012
Archery: Sept. 17 thru Dec. 31,
2012 Regular Firearms: Nov. 28 thru Dec 9,
2012
Nonresident Deer applicants must apply online from April 1 thru
April 27, 2012. The unit map is the same for rifle,
muzzleloader and archery hunts. Blue River Whitetails is located in
Unit 8. When filling out your application, under primary unit choose
Unit #8 and the adjacent unit as #9. For your second choice mark
Unit #9 for your primary, and Unit #8 for the adjacent unit. This
will increase your odds of drawing. Make sure you mark the hunt type
you will be hunting (ex. firearms, muzzleloader or archery.) The
lottery drawing will be in the month of June and you will be
notified by KDWP shortly after of your drawing status. The
non-resident deer permit is $322.15 (includes a $21.15
nonrefundable application fee). A Kansas hunting license is $72.15
and can be purchased via the KDWP website.
Hunts are fully guided 5-day hunts
Blue River Whitetails will provide:
- Lodging (6 nights)
- Sighting in of bow or rifle
- Tree stands
- Field dressing and packing out game
- Meat handling - Deliver to the local locker or taxidermist
