KANSAS WHITETAIL HUNTS
We are booking our Kansas whitetail deer hunts for 2010. Take home a fine Kansas trophy buck. Leftover permits go on sale June 15 at 12:01 a.m., online at the KDWP website (www.kdwp.state.ks.us). Those who don’t have access to a computer may call the Licensing Section at 620-672-0728, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

SPRING KANSAS TURKEY HUNTS
We are booking our Kansas Spring turkey hunts for 2011. Hurry before all our dates are full.

2010 Kansas Turkey Season

Archery Only Season: April 1 - April 7, 2010
Regular Season (firearm/archery): April 8 - May 31, 2010
Youth Season (16 and younger, no minimum age): April 1-7, 2010
These dates are subject to change by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

Legal Equipment: long, recurve or compound bows and shotguns and muzzleloading shotguns 20 gauge or larger using shot sizes 2 through 9.

Limit: Any individual who has purchased a spring turkey permit is eligible for one second turkey game tag. Spring game tags are valid for Units 2 and 3 ONLY.

Youth and Disability: Sept. 12 thru Sept 20, 2009
Archery: Sept. 21 thru Dec. 31, 2009

2010 Kansas Deer Season

Early Muzzleloader: Sept. 20 thru Oct. 3, 2010
Youth and Disability: Sept. 11 thru Sept 19, 2010
Archery: Sept. 20 thru Dec. 31, 2010
Regular Firearms: Dec. 1 thru Dec 12, 2010

The application period is May 1st thru June 2nd. The unit map is the same for rifle, muzzleloader and archery hunts. Blue River Whitetails is located in Unit 8. When filling out your application, under primary unit choose Unit #8 and the adjacent unit as #9. For your second choice mark Unit #9 for your primary, and Unit #8 for the adjacent unit. This will increase your odds of drawing. Make sure you mark the hunt type you will be hunting (ex. firearms, muzzleloader or archery.) The non-resident deer tag application will be available at the KDWP website May 1st (http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/). The lottery drawing will be in the month of June and you will be notified by KDWP shortly after of your drawing status. The non-resident deer permit is $322.15 (includes a $21.15 nonrefundable application fee). A Kansas hunting license is $72.15 and can be purchased via the KDWP website.
